Abstract

Blockchain technology, characterized by its decentralized, transparent, and immutable ledger system, has emerged as a revolutionary tool across multiple sectors, including intellectual property (IP) protection. This research explores how blockchain can be integrated into the IP ecosystem to enhance the registration, enforcement, and commercialization of intellectual property rights. Drawing upon academic literature, industry practices, and legal frameworks from various jurisdictions, the study analyzes blockchain's potential to resolve key challenges such as piracy, IP theft, and inefficient rights management. It also identifies the limitations and legal hurdles to adoption, particularly in developing countries. The findings indicate that blockchain holds significant promise for modernizing IP systems through improved transparency, automation, and global interoperability. The paper concludes with strategic recommendations for policymakers and IP stakeholders to harness blockchain's benefits while addressing its legal, technical, and regulatory challenges.
